Ides of March

The second half of March will be exciting! First up is a hit at Hoss’s Deli in Newport News, VA with No BS! Brass on Thursday. We’ve been working on some new tunes and rhymes so I’m eager to do some road testing. On Friday I’ll head over to JMU to participate in the JMU  Tri-State Jazz Fest where I’ll be wearing several hats: adjudicator, guest artist/clinician, and director of the James River High School Jazz Band. No BS! Brass closes the day with a performance as well. On Wednesday, the 21st, Hooten Levin Jones, a new bone/cello/drums trio will return to Balliceaux for another night of free improvisations. Closing out the month will be a No BS! Brass hit at Joe’s Pub in NYC (Tickets ). In case you missed it, here‘s a little something I wrote for RVAjazz a little while ago.
